HAUSMUSIK 2022

HAUSMUSIK (2022) is a walk-in sound installation that brings the various rooms of the Jagdschloss Kranichstein to life. The source material consists of the diverse sounds of the building, from creaking floorboards and squeaky doors to the chirping of birds nesting in the roof beams. From this material, six collages, distributed across the rooms of the building and differentiated by sound characteristics, have been created. These collages are sometimes enriched with short music fragments from the history of the Jagdschloss - from baroque sounds to contemporary music (since the building was also the birthplace of the Summer Courses for New Music). For the visitor who wanders from room to room through ever-new, sometimes overlapping soundscapes, the building becomes a large instrument. Its components (doors, floors, glass display cases, furniture) are brought to life with body sound speakers, creating a mysterious room music whose origin often can no longer be defined. The artistic concept is developed by Grazyna Przybylska-Angermann and Klaus Angermann. The sound collages are created by the composer Marijana Janevska.
