I, wh(I), wh(I) not 2024
"I, wh(I), wh(I) not" is a performance piece in which discussing about my works becomes the performance itself. The language in this piece is deeply influenced by Beckett’s distinctive style and expression. I have long been excited and intrigued by the interplay between the sound of words and their meanings. In this work, text and language are treated as musical material, emphasizing not only the meaning of the words but also their auditory qualities—the raw gestures of spoken words stripped of their meaning. This is achieved through repetition and the disruption of traditional language structures, and the emergence of musical “islands” that periodically surface and recede.
